The name Cholanad is derived from the great Chola Empire of Tamils. Cholas were one of the prime seafarering and colonizing empires of the classical world from 320 BC-1279 AD. Cholas presented their culture and of course the food to the countries they traded with and ruled. For example, The Thai food and culture is heavily influenced by the Tamil cuisine due to Cholas.

A contemporary South Indian concept, Cholanad is an idea to reinvent and share the great cuisine of Tamils from 320 BC on world stage with world class presentation and style.
